The Author waits impatiently for influential editor
Mavis Galore to finish reading his new work -
only to have the manuscript returned covered in drool

  1. Could the author tell from what page the drool was on how much of the manuscript had been read? I hear that some writers and screenplay writers place minute undetectable laser spotters throughout their manuscript to find out exactly how much was read. Super detectors can now also track how long the reader dwells on each page. What’s the author's view of these devices?

  2. The Author has never employed such a device but knows a writer who once submitted a manuscript with all the pages glued together. The manuscript was returned, untouched, with a full reader's report, along with the publishers rejection
