Inspired by the publicity garnered by prize-winning 'potty potter'
stage transvestite Grayson Perry, the novelist Muriel Gaylord
attends an important literary lunch dressed as a man. "I'm raising
awareness for women with moustaches" she told a startled waiter.
I read Muriel Gaylord’s novel The Cherry in the Orchard and was rather shocked. I was also shocked by her previous novels.
ReplyDeleteYes, Muriel is certainly a shocker. You only need consider her notorious 'By Charing Cross Station I Sat Down & Slept'
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forgot her infamous 'Orange Is Not The Only Suit'
ReplyDeleteI'm still reeling from it!
